Steering Box interchange help??

I have a 2010 ford f250 psd that I'm replacing the steering box because the other one broke. The truck was in a wreck so no warranty on this. I called up a salvage yard that had one out of an 08 f350SD powerstroke, so they delivered it and the thing is completely different, its bigger and heavier. I called up the ford dealership, gave them the vin off of my truck and the truck this steering box came out off and they said they are the same part numbers. Well something is wrong because the steering box is totally different. I was going to just get a new one from ford but they were on backorder so I found another used one that came off of an 09 f250 diesel and hopefully that one will work. Does anyone know what the problem might be?? are the F350s bigger than the f250s?? ford is saying they got the same part number so I'm really baffled??

Hard to tell for sure, so many things can change front end components (GVWR, snowplow prep, etc.)

Finally got the right one. I got it installed but the steering sure doesn't steer very easy. Is it possible to get air in the lines?? I had those two lines sitting open for quite a while an we also moved the truck. Any ideas? Also is the brakes affected by that somehow? they are extremely hard.
