exhaust filter not being cleaned
I am 700 miles into a 1900 mile trip. I have noticed that my exhaust filter cleaning has not been taking place. The truck is running fine, tempatures are fine, power is good, and there are no codes being thrown. My question, what if any damage could result from completing the trip without having my truck checked?

if you have the latest flash, it will flash 'cleaning' message only for a moment. you have to scroll through 'system check' and it will pop up as the last one. maybe you missed it? dont think its really casue for concern

Any idea how new the latest flash is? Mine had the 'Cleaning' message until it finished and would then turn off. Someone told me the newest flash reads 'cleaning exhaust filter complete' when it's done. I was told two weeks ago my truck was re-flashed and I have not seen the 'cleaning' or 'finished' messages yet. I haven't driven a lot due to surgery so it may not have regened since I got it back.

My 2010 regens about every 150 miles or so. the message doesn't stay for long, but it does show up. I know Ive missed it a few times because i notice a change in the sound of the exhaust. If you don't see the message just listen for the change in the hair dryer sound from the exhaust, it will be noticeably louder.

Good news.. I had some work done about two weeks ago. They must have reflashed my computer. Cleaning filter message came on and disappeared. Thanks CEEEJ, no cause for concern.

How long was it on? Mine was re-flashed and I haven't seen the message since

I just want to say that this is the first time I've ever read of someone being happy to see the cleaning exhaust message.
![]() Rob, yours will get further apart. Mine did that when new, and then usually once per tank. |

As far as I can tell, my '10 with about 6K miles regens once a tank, too. Usually, around 250-300 miles (city driving). It flashes "cleaning exhaust filter" briefly but I've never seen a "completed" message. I cycle through the system check to see when it's finished (if I have time to drive around for 10-15 min.).
