Oil in intercooler and tubing, Is this normal?

Have a few 08 Cab and Chassis at work. one truck blew a boot off when pulling up a grade. I replaced the boot, but when i did, i noticed oil dripping out of the tube. the entire inside of boot and tubing was covered in oil/residue.

I called dealership to set up appointment. Their service mgr said that their techs said it was normal. ??????? Normal? Isnt oil in the intercooler/tubing a NORMAL sign of turbo failure?

If its normal, wont it eventually plug up the intercooler?
The truck seems to run ok. No check eng lights, etc.

It's normal to have some oil in the IC pipes, but if you have alot, you may have a problem.

There's going to be some oil in the charge air system from the crankcase ventilation system.

Is the truck tuned? There was a recent broadcast message regarding CAC hot side tube blowoff, and that is really all they mention, check for a tuner, if none is found proceed with normal WSM diagnosis.

A little hairspray (ask for some from your wife) on the tubes and inside of the boot will help prevent this from happening again. Did the driver happen to note what kind of boost the truck was making when it came apart?
