runs like has rev limiter and poo88 rail press. to high

Hey guys can anyone give me some insight on this problem. 08 6.4 edge juice with magnaflow 4inch filter back. will loose pwr and start studdering like has a rev limiter and make very little boost. it will do this in park and checked dtcs and i saw poo03 no desription said to consult the service manual. also had this poo88 fuel rail press. to high. cleared codes and was fine for a short while. when it did it again it through only the poo88 code. now this thing will do this every time you drive it.

Sounds like you have a problem with the high pressure fuel pump. Take the Edge off and see if it still does it. I am betting it will. If that is the case then it needs to go to the dealer for a new pump. If it doesn't do it, then it is still working just enough to keep you out of the shop for a few months more before it completely dies. I had the same problem. I had to wait till if did it stock before I could complain about it not working right..

Had a similar DTC and symptoms, my truck was not chipped though. Actually turned out to be a bad EGR valve, it's definetly worth a check. My EGR valve got bad enough that the truck couldn't even start. They thought it was fuel pump related because of the trouble code and the failure to start. I actually dropped my fuel tank and searched to make sure I didn't have debris in it. After about a week they pulled the EGR valve, low and behold it was dirty and was the culprit.

I have gone through roughly 3 EGR valves with my truck, but as a positive to everyone, the newer EGR valve design from Ford seems to be very solid. Keep in mind if your EGR valve has the coolant line going to it, then it is the old style.

Also to anyone who is still seeing slow coolant loss after the venturi tee and replaced radiator the older EGR valves are suspect to allowing coolant to leak.

Hope this helps you with your truck.
