Low Boost
I am not sure what the deal is so here it is. I tuned my truck to stock and updated my livewire to the latest tune revision and firmware. I loaded my new custom tune and reprogrammed the truck. I now run hot and smokey with a max of 30psi at full lock up. Its been a while since i drove it like i stole it but i was getting 40+psi. I talked to sct and they recommended reloading the tune revision and firmware. I did that and still the same thing. I then went back to stock and took the truck to ford. They told me that i was getting 32psi stock and that is the correct boost. They said the reason for lack of power was my air filter was dirty. Indicator shows half way to red. So they said lack of maintenance and charged me a 150.00 diag fee. I cant get the factory boost gauge to even read 30psi. Any suggestions on what to do or what the problem is?

I would put it to stock and keep there for a few days and see what happens. I had something similar happen when my EGR had a sensor go bad. My truck slowly lost boost with limp mode. It got to where I couldn't even get the truck over 50 mph. Have you installed EGR block off plates by any chance without the EGR valve being shut off without tuning?

I have no egr modifications at all. I know a guy with a smoke machine and he wants to hook it up to see if i have a boost leak. I have been stock for a few days now and it isnt getting worse yet.

i would start looking for boost leaks and exhaust leaks

I had my wife put the truck in drive and put a load on the truck to build about 15-20psi. Something doesnt sound right around the driver side egr cooler. Its hard to tell. I have never noticed the sound before but have also never loaded the truck and listened under the hood. It sounds like a boost leak. Ford says replace my factory air filter and everything will be ok.
Can anyone else hear a distinctive hiss around the driverside egr cooler? I am going nuts trying to think what it might be. Any ideas on where the leak might be on the exhaust side?

ehaust leaks could be anywhere from the manifolds to the turbo. most common are the up pipes

How do i convince the ford dealer to check for a boost leak? Should i buy a new filter from them and then have them recheck the truck? They said they would refund my money for the diag fee if I could prove to them that my boost was low. I havent been stock in a long time but i seem to remember the boost gauge showing more than 30psi.
