08 F-250 here with 3.73's. I have a 2.5" leveling kit and 35's right now. I get 13-15 mpg in the city, and 17-21 mpg or so on the highway. Best recorded was 21.5 going from Kennesaw, GA to Louisville, KY back in March.

My best is a about 18.5 highway on my 38's and stock gearing, the 310 is suppose to have even better fuel economy though, which should be out before too long

So do these trucks pick up a mpg or two when you put larger tires under them like the CR 5.9 Cummins or should i just leave the suspension and tires alone? But i would like to keep a stock tranny so i think a 310 tune is out of the question.

You should get better than my 14.4 with my 4.10 rear-end. On the wife's truck we can get about 19 with it on the highway, but it's only a 4x2. I should say that I can get 19 out of it. Every time she drives it her mileage is down around 16 because she can't seem to keep her food from pressing the go peddle to the floor. Both are running the 310 tune. Have fun!!!!!!!!

I would say you would gain some where around 4-7 MPG by deleteing the DPF and running the 275 tune!

With 3.73s yes. With 3.55s no. 2000 rpms seems to be the point where the mileage REALLY turns south. You're spinning about 1850-1900 with 3.73s and stock tires. Going up to a 35" tire (stock is about 34") drops the rpm just enough to see a small economy gain.

Wait for the 310 tune. The 275v3 doesn't get as good as the 275v2.

Well I am running the 275 for now, when running the 250 tune I get better mileage, so sometime this week I will go back to the 250, I can get 22 on the highway with it, on the 275 I am down to about 19 on the highway, waiting for the 310 to come out and see what it does, no matter what you do, you "WILL" get better mileage after you go with Spartan.
