Spartan reliability?

I know a ton of people run the Spartan tuner/tunes on here and I'm thinking about one myself. How reliable are they?

I don't like to play around much with my truck because it's my daily driver. So can I just load say the 210 or 250 tune and forget about it?

Also is it hard on the truck computer loading and unloading the factory tune if I have to take it in for service.

Thanks in advance for the info.

If you want a tune that you can just load and not have to really watch anything, then I say load the 210 and be done with it. It never got hot for me and doesn't pour out smoke attracting all kinds of attention. I have yet to hear anything about the Spartan tuner damaging the 6.4.

Very reliable!! I ran my wife's truck from a dead stop to about 85 and the egt's only reached 1407f. You would be able to load the 210 and leave it on the truck with no problems. All tunes from the 210 and below have built in safety features. The 250, and 275 are race tunes, and the only safety feature that I know of is if the transmission slips, the engine will defuel. They (250-275) tunes shift hard, and are made that way to ensure the transmission doesn't slip. I've changed tunes many times, and have never had a problem at all. I have about 13,500 miles on my dually with Spartan tunes, and about 3000 miles on the wife's truck.. Very dependable, powerful and an increase in economy. Takes about 32 minutes to load your first tune, and to switch between tunes about 15 minutes. Plus there is no need to return the truck to stock when switching between tunes. I don't think you will find better tunes, or any device better than the DashDaq to monitor your vehicle with...
