I have it on perfomance otherwise get 9 10 highway at 70 with 4:30 and 35 tires. Will spartan help MPG with dpf cat on. . what if change exhaust or air filter. Hiway patrol and Dealer not so mod friendly already lemoned my 05. Now I am wishing I would have kept it!! more power and better mileage

Go to Spartan Diesel Technologies - Technology Beyond Performance! and then to the 6.4L section. They have DPF-on tuning available and it apparently produces little soot. Greenhorn Diesel is a user on here and he used the DPF-on tuning before doing his delete and he loved it. I would PM him and find out about it and see for sure on the mpg, I think he saw an increase of like 1.5 or so, and said the power was great

Everyone is seeing something different when it comes to economy on these trucks. For me running the 275 tune I've seen a 3-4 mpg increase compared to stock. But if I run faster than 2000 rpm, 63 mph it drops sharply. I just don't think your going to see much of an increase with all the emission crap left in place. Sending you a pm...

I gained 1.5 mpg in the dead of winter running the 150 dpf enabled tune. I didn't gain anything at first...it was too much fun. After I calmed down, I had my gains. This was short trip driving. I never towed with that tune, so I can't help you there. Stock I would regen every 300 miles or so. With the Spartan, 35-400 miles. Same as stock if I hammered it often. Regen duration was less as well. Is it cleaner than stock, I think it is. But there is a certain aftermarket company that has a cleaner than everyone's tune.....no numbers to back it up, but it is there Seriously, you won't be disappointed with Spartan. The dashdaq itself is an amazing tool. I used it stock for a couple days(I gave Spartan a wrong VIN)and it was cool to see the temps, and pressure, etc. Good luck

Thanks for the info. So the dash daq is similar to the edge (what I am familiar with) is it wired into the brain or is it the brain. I just have to hate and take it out everytime the truck goes into the unfriendly dealer. A little nervous bout the warranty as is everyone since I already lemon lawed my 6.0. Does spartan have a module that just uses the port under the dash so it looks like nothing has been done?? U know I guess I can look that up. I am justin sittin here hahahah

The DashDaq connects to the OBDII port. Here's a link to their site:

DashDAQ Series II from Drew Technologies

also lots of info here:

Thanks for the link mick. How does the spartan plug in. Is it just a downloader then you just monitor with the dash daq. I tried calling some people to find out but I thinkit is to late in the day.

The DashDaq is the instrument used by Spartan to deliver the tunes, and monitor your gauges. It plugs in by way of the OBDII port.. Really a great instrument to have. It can monitor almost anything you wish, plus read and clear diagnostic trouble codes. There is also an add on GPS feature...

Does the airbox "really" give you that much of an improvement?

I know that you can hack the airbox and get about the same results but it is worth spending the money?

It probably does. But compared to a drop in high flow filter, not enough to justify the couple ponies. Will you feel the differnce, probably not. The only time you will see it is on the dyno. My truck is faster, more powerful, and more efficient than stock, and that is all I need to know
