Coolant filter??

About to pull the trigger on a few goodies, but wanted some advice....as far as coolant filters go, is there any big difference between the DieselSite kit or the Sinister kit??? Other than the name?? I'm getting ready to order an Air Dog II and a Beans Diesel sump and I want to throw in a coolant filter, too. The Sinister looks cool, but if it's just the laser etching, then the DieselSite kit is a little less money.

Just wondering????

I think the only difference is looks. I do remember reading that the sinister kit used to come with crimped on ends on the hoses which tended to leak. I'm sure if that was the case they would have it solved by now. I have the diesel site kit and it works great. The only issue I had was the length of hose they originally sent was pretty much just enough if you put it in the perfect spot. I think they to have changed that issue. Otherwise both kits function exactly the same.

It is a good kit, but they all leak. To fix the problem(s), do not use the two valves they provide...either buy different ones or don't use valves at all. Second, the clamps they provide s@ck too, buy some silicon hose specific clamps that are the right size.

I must have gotten lucky because my kit never leaked at all

Got my DieselSite filter installed this weekend. So far no leaks! Nice kit and super easy, but I did have to buy more 3/8" heater hose. Was about 3 feet short so I had to pick up another 10' at Napa. Other than that all went well.

Picture is looking forward. New coolant filter first with my tyranny filter in front of that.
