DPF Delete Tuner Help Please

A friend of mine just bought a 6.4L. He bought 5" turbo back exhaust with DPF delete, intake and a SCT X3 3000. Well turns out the 3000 doesn't support the DPF delete. Was told we need the 3015R. Where can we buy this?

He also mentioned getting a H&S, what model number H&S do we need to support the DPF delete?

If you are wanting an SCT Offroad such as the 3015R you will have to find a used one since they were discontinued due to the EPA deal with Edge. You can also try Spartan which is a great tuner, or the H&S race models and there are some street models that have been made delete capable. Rudy's carries both H&S, Spartan, and they also carry some SCT models that have been made delete capable, but the amount of people who can tune them are limited vs the older race tuners whom have many optional tuners

He wants either a H&S tune or a SCT with a tune from Matt.

What model number H&S is needed so I can search? I'd hate to buy the wrong damn tuner again.

i had the livewire for a couple years on my 6.0 and now one on my 6.4, which i am returning to Rudy's. as woodboy mentioned the competition model will not allow you to purchase tunes from such a wide variety as you would with a race of off road model. you are limited to IDP, and/ or a very select few others. as for the other 3015R, i am unfamiliar with. but if you were to buy that and the truck doesnt alreay have gauges, you will probably end up getting a monitoring device from edge, which is more $.

long story short, im returning my SCT, i love the device but not happy with the fact i cant get Matts tunes, so i bought an H&S race tuner yesterday. heard tons of good things about it, the defueling capibilities and all the features it has, has got me impressed. cant wait to hook it up to my truck and see what it's all about.

i dont think you can go wrong with either one, there are far more tuners out there that will work with SCT, and not H&S. but Matt is the only one that seems to have these 6.4 tunes down pat. so im gonna get his tune for my H&S when it arrives.

That's our thinking as well, even though the H&S is double the cost of a SCT. The defueling is a nice bonus as well as the wads up display.

I'm no stranger to SCT, have owned 4 vehicle custom tunes with SCT but they all were gas burners. I wasn't aware of the issues(limitations)with the base model SCT(3000) on a diesel. I'm just glad I was able to sell the 3000 to a friend with a 2013 F150 5.0L so the guy with the 6.4L isn't out any money due to my lack of knowledge of them on a DPF deleted truck.
