Question Mishimotor Radiator... Are they junk?

So I'm already on my second Mishimoto radiator and it went out again...

The core of the radiators I've been receiving seem to be defective, they'll leak under pressure. There is nothing wrong with the truck, and it's ran flawlessly for a while, this is the only thing that keeps bugging me.

On top of all of this, Mishimoto won't even cover the labor for the POS radiators they keep sending me, so it just keeps putting me in the hole. I use my truck for work, and the longer it's down, the more money it costs me. I paid $950 for their radiator back in January from a vendor in NC because it was when they still had their shortages. I am absolutely not impressed, and I if this next one goes out again, I'm going back to stock.

Everyone made it seem like a Mishimoto radiator was the top of the line and what not, however it's done nothing but cause me headaches.

Maybe I've just got the bad batch, who knows, but does anyone else have any experience they can chime in about these aluminum wonders?

I sent them a video of the issue, which the link is below.

If you guys look very carefully, coolant seeps out of the radiator if it goes under pressure.

PS. I tow a single car hauler on occasions, the truck doesn't get abused much, just the occasional showing off that these monsters are capable of.

I have had mine on since around October and no problems (knock on wood). Where do yours keep leaking from? This is the first I have heard of a moshimoto leaking.

Thanks for the post. I believe you had called in and spoke with us about this issue yesterday afternoon. I am sorry for any inconvenience regarding this. It is rare to see an issue with one of these as we have sold well over 500 units with only but a very small handful coming back. Have you taken care of any and all TSBs that Ford has released that can cause the cooling system to over pressurize?

Thanks,
-Pat

What maximum pressure are these all aluminum radiators rated at? What is cooling system pressure spec on the 6.4L engine?

rafaelwmendes have you done a quick check on your venturi tee? Make sure it is installed correctly, few members have had theirs hooked up backwards.

The cooling system shouldn't have more than 16 psi in it or the cap would vent it out wouldn't it. I have a mishimoto on my truck for a month or so and it's been good so far.

I don't think so, this is the first time I posted about this issue.

I sent them a video of the issue, which the link is below.

Yes everything else has been taken care of on the truck, and I am not the one who installed the radiator. My mechanic is this guy in the craigslist link below, and he sure does know his stuff, so I'm pretty sure the installation was done without a problem.

Ford Diesel Technician "POWERSTROKE SPECIALIST"

One thing I can say I like about Mishimoto is that their customer service is top notch, every time I have a issue they get on top of it ASAP and ship a replacement extremely quick, usually within 48-72 hours.

Hopefully this third radiator will last.
