Spartan 250 idle..

George C., you mentioned on another forum that your Spartan 250 makes it idle loud again? (I'd post this question in that thread over there but I lack the interest to signup for an account there)

I thought the whole electro-piezo injector setup on the 08s was supposed to keep it quiet unlike the previous mechanical injectors. Perhaps spartan is playing with fuel rail pressures?

Im confused.. ?

The injectors with the 275 are a touch louder.

I guess I'm a little lost on the sound.......are you guys talking about it sounding "more like a diesel" with the rattle? Or are you talking about the air, turbos, and exhaust?

I've got the 275 and it is definitely a crisper sounding idle. Slightly louder, but a more prenounced injection sound. It also carries a different pitch when you lift and are coasting to a traffic light. It's definitely a better sounding engine. It had me wondering at first because of the sound change.
I asked Matt about it and he said they kick the rail PSI up to 25,000 lbs at idle on the 275.

Ok thanks, I just hope its not too 'rattly'. I rather enjoy my quiet diesel idling. BUT, I've a new Spartan on the way
