Mirror

My driver side mirror got hit Saturday night and busted the plastic. It's chrome on back , heated, extends , and folds. I talk to a guy that has one just like it but he says it has memory. I'm pretty sure mine does not have memory. He said it prob wouldn't work seeing the wires would be different.. I called ford they won't like 1309 dollars for this mirror. I have checked everywhere and can't find one. From what people are saying is it's a " one year mirror" that no aftermarket company makes . I can't make myself pay that much for a mirror. Anyone have any ideas? I would really appreciate any help., thks guys in advance

I broke my drivers side mirror a little bit last year too. Some of the bottom plastic broke, and the bottom glass shattered.

I replaced the glass, but I have yet to find a price on a mirror that I can justify. Mine is all black, with all the options. It works fine, but it's a little ugly.

You'd probably know if your truck has memory.

You can make the mirror work, even if it does or doesn't have memory. I don't know the exact details, but the wiring might even be the same. If not, you can rewire the connectors to make it work. I'm sure there's someone on here who's done it, or knows how. If you can get a matching mirror for a decent price, jump on it.

And if you find a black one, let me know.

I haven't heard good things about the aftermarket ones. The biggest complaint I see is that they vibrate too much, which makes it hard to see out of them. OEM is the way to go, in my opinion.

I've ran aftermarket replacement tow mirrors on my E99 for well over 100K miles. no issues.

brother put 08s on his 2003 last winter. no isssues, no vibration or ratteling.

guess it depends who you listen to if they have experience with them or not.
I'm pretty sure we got ours from either Rock Auto or A1 Auto

I'm confused bout the chrome. Everyone keeps saying it just snaps on. I'm pretty sure this chrom piece came from factory. If it was black mirror with chrom put on after I would just buy black one ..

The factory chrome ones, as far as I know, have a chrome cap on the top that's removable/replaceable, just like the color matched ones. If the whole front of the mirror is chrome, it's either a cover or an aftermarket mirror.

It's just a back so it's factory. I can find the plane black. I thought I might be able buy the black one then just chrome the back but it won't match other side. Fml
