6.4 Banks exhaust

Hi, do any of you guys have the banks exhaust on your 08's and if so any comment would be helpful. I want to get the Banks dual exhaust and am wondering if there advertisement is horse poo or does it actually lower exhaust temps. also if it made any noticeable power gain no other mods just exhaust? Ohh how does it sound?

Basically on a 6.4 adding exhaust on a stock truck is for looks only..... sound and egts will only change if you remove the dpf

The Banks exhaust system's Cool Cuffs design is very similar to the stock system, and the lower temps they display are from their dual set-ups. It is barely lower than stock temps. It's main design to to reduce exiting gas temperatures during the regen process, not EGT's at the motor.

Compared to MBRP and other aftermarket exhaust systems for the 6.4 Banks has lower exiting exiting gas temps during regen, but the EGT's at the motor will be unaffected because of the DPF and Cat.

The only way to lower EGT's significantly for the 6.4 is to remove the DPF and Cat with a delete pipe and programmer.

albinomule, I'm sure it worked on your 6.0, but the 6.4's emissions control system is 100% different compared to the 6.0. Just replacing the rear section on tailpipe with an aftermarket unit will not affect HP or EGT's significantly enough to feel a difference because of the DPF and Cat. If the DPF and Cat are removed then they would have similar results you had with your 6.0.

I have the banks dauls on my 6.4 and yes it is way overpriced just for the looks because i noticed no sound change at all from stock exhaust. Not sure about the temps i never checked. Once i added my dpf/cat delete pipe it sounds awesome.
