Question about trip to dealer and mini maxx

Hi all...

I just installed some hids into a set of recon lights. The drl cuts power to the lights and they flicker even with a relay. I need the drl turned off by the dealer but it can only be done through programming. I'm worried they will mess up my mini maxx programming.

Guys would you mind sharing your thoughts on this?

Ps... Here's a pic of my ride

Sounds like a bad ground on your hid relay or something of that sort

Its not that. The lights work perfect when in the on position... But the relay makes a loud buzzing when they are off because of the daylight.

Usually kits tell you that they are not DRL compatible. You will need to return your truck to stock (programming at least) before they perform something like that.

Thinking about getting rid of the stock 6.7 turbo?

If you know the dealer well enough you could pull it in the shop and let it return to stock in there. Let them do their thing, reprogram and be on your way

Update for anyone who cares... I just told them not to do any updates and they went in and turned off the drl and plugged the mini maxx back in and everything was fine. If they ever cause a problem... It's an easy fix... Have ford load the stock programming back... Then reinstall h&s program on the spot.

So if ford changes the programming to turn day time running lights off. Then you put the minimax back on that doesn't overwrite what they did. Did you return the mini back to stock or just leave it programmed and let ford do there thing. I need to do this. What did they charge you

No...they unplug the mm from the obdii port...then program the lights...then plug the mm back in and done. As long as they don't do any engine software updates you're fine.

he is right, you can turn that stuff on and off with tune loaded. I turned the lamp outage feature off and ran 4x4 self tests today on my 6.4 while it was still tuned. everything went fine.
