6.4 Goodies

So im brand new to the powesrtroke diesels. This is my first diesel in fact. An 08 6.4 f250.
Just yesterday i bought a package from Rudys diesel that included 5" downpipe back exhaust with muffler and dpf delete, sct scanner, s&b cold air intake. Supposedly this should be a grea improvement on gas mileage and hp? Just want to hear some thoughts on this. Also is the 5" flo pro exhaust with a muffler much louder than stocK? Any info is greatly appreciated

from what i've read and heard, a 5" straight pipe is a little louder, but not a whole bunch.

It is louder than stock, but not in the way you might think if you are unfamiliar with tuned diesels. It's not engine-sound louder, it's turbo-discharge louder. With the muffler, you might hear more of a turbo sound, more like a large fan or blower (surprise!) More of a turbine sound if anything. The main mpg improvement is based on eliminating regens, any other mpg gain is based on driving habits and obviously vary.

I love the sound of my 5". Has a cool sound when you get on it a little bit and open up the vgt I think it is. Something sounds different anyway when you get on it.

My best advice is to tune for horsepower which will be greatly increased, and accept any fuel mileage that comes with it.

Most get the best mileage on the biggest tune anyway.

Thanks all for the insight...The package I bought claims 575 rwh. Which I dont think is too bad for a daily driver.
