Just FYI. I think damn near all of the decent alarms are all made by the same company, DEI. Mine is the viper brand. I've had 2 failures since I bought it about 4 yrs ago. Both of them have been wire issues. It wasn't the wiring job it was the actual wire itself. Not sure if they use cheap shat or what. Mine is hooked into the wait to start light.

This is in the 6.4 section guys. Ive read in the electronic section not much else works besides factory remote starts on the 6.4s. Anyone who has experience that can chime in????

My truck had a remote start installed when I bought it used. (No alarm, that I know of?) My key fob has "PRESTIGE" on it. It works great. It's not really cold enough here in SC to really need to warm the truck up before I get in it (although I do), but I do love leaving the AC on and having it cool when I get in!
Neat how you can push the button, take you key out, and it keeps running. I use this on those hot days when I don't want to have to come back to a hot truck.

I believe the one you're talking about is the Viper 7900. It has all the toys and a programmable turbo cool down feature. I priced one a week ago and the shop quoted me $750 installed. I don't really have the need for remote start so I think I'll go with the Viper 5200. It has the same basic security features and they quoted me $450 installed.

I have this model, Viper - Remote Start - Viper 160XV, it has the turbo timer, and works very well. There is a programmable delay, 1 to 60 seconds and my truck doesn't like to start with it below 30 degrees. Other than that, great unit and I'm very happy with it.

I have the Carol Shelby unit. It does more stuff than I care to know. The remote start works awesome if my heater had the cold weather option it would be perfect! My motion detector is way to sensative but that can be remedied as soon as I stop by and have the tech readjust it.
