Question egr valve stuck with soot can I do dpf delete with tuner and turn off egr in tuning?

I have a 2008 6.4 that is stock at the moment except for an afe cai. The truck started running sh*tty has no power at all unless I ease into the trottle, and threw a code, read it and p1335 came up, sounds like the egr valve is full of soot? If so can I put a dpf delete kit with a tuner and just shut off the whole egr in the tuning or do i got to delete the egr as well since its messed up? which i really don't want to.

You can do the dpf delete kit and tuner and leave it turned off no problems. I would delete the egr and put an aftermarket elbow on but you don't have to

ok thats what I thought, I just didn't know if because say the valve was stuck open that it would be stuck open and disabled when the tuning is installed, and would still not run good. So what your saying is i will be fine if i do dpf delete and tuner install and no more egr problems?

If the EGR is stuck open, a tune is not going to magically fix it.

If you delete the EGR, you will need to remove or block the cooler flow to the intake elbow, since there will still be uncommanded EGR flow with the valve hung open.

At the very least, you'll have to remove the valve (probably won't come out of the housing) and smash it shut.
