EGR Coolers - Should I remove?

Okay EGR valve is disabled (will not open) and have block off plates installed and running like this for about 6 months.

So since the exhaust heat is no longer running through them (super heating them) and in a way are mini coolers for the coolant (but not very good coolant coolers)....

Even if they leak the plates will keep the coolant from going into the intake or back out the exhaust and I have a coolant filter so any of the yuk from these will be filter out.

So can't I just leave them in?

Me lookie stock for popo exhaust people. LOL...
