Help With AFE Stage II for my 6.4

Hey guys.. I have been waiting on my AFE Stage 2 kit to come in. Matt said they are back ordered, so I had him take me off the list so I could find one sooner.

My question is which AFE staage 2 kit do I order? I am looking for the one that is oil based as I am told they work a little better and I believe my truck is a job 2 build. I bought it in Feb. Also do they sell the AFE 2 with a clear lid so we do not have to remove the top to see if the filter needs cleaned? Thanks for the help with this one...

Get a proguard 7 filter and a pre filter to slide over it. The proguard 7 IMO is the best oil media filter on the market. If you dont have custom tunes the AFE intake setup my throw codes. NO clear covers are aviable however i dont see why you could'nt make one. As far as cleaning i would just watch your air filter minder and clean when nessary.

Ditto - I've run mine through a LOT of loose dust and dirt weeekly, no problems with the filter getting dirty.

Even as a stand alone mod, you can really hear the air getting sucked into the motor!

ProGuard 7 is the filter you want...and I also agree with getting a pre-filter for it...Outerwear makes them

Are aftermarket intakes setting codes all the time on the new 6.4?

Very good, I'm trying to find some info out for the neighbor. He loves the truck but hates the fuel mileage! Thanks for the info.

I was looking at one too, also saw a torque tube for it?? Im thinking of just dropping in a k&n filter in the stock location and leave the factory filter cover off for now until more opinions surface for all the other filters.
