Considering exhaust replacement

Is there any benefit to changing the factory exhaust on my 2010 f 350. I have a Banks cold air intake, Edge CTS tuner and am considering a Banks exhaust. From what I have read, the exhaust is DPF back and as such will not give me any performance benefit. Banks web site says it "out flows" stock by 80 %. Confused about this as the primary restrictions would be at the DPF and forward ? Any ideas ?

Welcome to the site! Im gonna bet that yes there is a bonus to changing out the exhaust but are you gonna get a real seat of the pants diffrence? Probably not. But will it sound better? HECK YA! Will you drop your egt's a bit? Ya. But I think most of it will be just a better sound.

But Id should of also said that this is with a stock truck. As you biuld that bad azz 6.4 and start crankin out the hp's then more and more you will find the bonus of the aftermarket exhaust.

Thanks. I have been reading the forum for a while now and have always been impressed ! Figured it was time to " join in" . Im not looking for race truck performance, I tow a 32' travel trailer and looking for performance over stock yet without reliability issues.

Have you considered deleting your truck? A dpf back exhaust isn't going to help in egts or make a difference in power because you are right, All the restrictions are the cat, dpf, and the factory downpipe.

I would love to delete it but live in a state that has yearly smogs. thanks for the verification of what i previously read regarding the DPF back exhaust being mostly sound and appearance upgrades.

I would bet that there isn't even a sound difference.
