Apex turbo...

Does anyone have experience with Apex turbo? I have been speaking with them about a LP turbo for my truck. Has anyone dealt with them before or know of anyone that has? Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

08 F350 cc/sb 4X4
h&s minimaxx, 5" flo pro, 4" down pipe, no limit cold air intake, dirty diesel EGR delete with intake elbow, 6.0 exhaust manifolds, custom up pipes, ported intake manifold, Apex 71mm LP turbo, Rudy's cold side pipe, diesel site coolant and transmission filter, diesel site intercooler boots, ccv mod, bilstein shocks, gogo dd solenoid, HID lights, Airdog II 165, PMF traction bars, PMF drag link, moshimoto aluminum radiator

Do you know if it was Frank (diesel23)? He is the one who told me about them. Them seem pretty good and he had good luck with them.

I believe it was him. I never read too much into them. I've always been a firm believer in the Elite setups because of the wheels they use and the tests they've done. Every tests done shows the Precision wheel they use is above and beyond the others used from the several companies that have modified stock turbos.

I know you know a lot about these setups. I am looking at an elite, apex and barder 71mm turbo. I believe the barder uses the k31 wheel and I know the apex also uses a 7 blade wheel also. The core charge on the apex and barder is much more reasonable. What makes the precision wheel that much better? Do you think the 7 blade wheels move a lot of air?

The design of the Precision wheel makes it better.

Great info Jeff. Thanks! So I guess I need to make a decision. It sounds like its about a 15 hp difference between the precision and K31 wheel. Do you think there is a difference in spool time? Is the precision wheel a 6 or 7 blade? I will be adding a ported intake manifold and 6.0 exhaust manifolds and Rudy's up pipes at the same time.

Spool up should be relatively the same. The biggest difference is probably going to be EGT's and power. The Precision wheel is a 6 blade billet wheel.
