If not I can always chip it with a DPF delete and keep the Edge.
that's good to hear, glad you're happy.

could it be true that a module like the edge does not leave its own mark like a programmer will, but collected data (boost, speed) are stored by the truck and are seen as out of parameters on inspection and therefore a module can be indirectly detected?

also, could passive regeneration be made better by conserving exhaust temperature and delivering a higher, more constant heat to the dpf? would wrapping the turbo down pipe or ceramic coating it be of any benefit? the turbo's function would be helped by keeping exhaust velocity up with maintaining a higher temp too.

Bottom line is that there are a couple of different avenues that can be taken with the 6.4,but for most of us, we don't want a stock truck especially with the price of diesel. The issue of if you do program your truck with or without a DPF delete tune can go back and forth all day. I'm not sure who said it, but the warranty, for the most part is dealt with at the dealership level. The only reason a FoMoCo rep will come is if something catrosphic happens, the dealer isn't sure what happened and so on......the key is to get in cool with your tech and service writer, otherwise like its been said......if you want to play, be ready to pay, DPF delete or not....its still reprogrammed.
As far as your idea with heat and wrapping.....the truck already see upwards of 1250F on regen, you reall dont want it to see much higher and you can try wrapping, but you want to talk about a pain in azz, not to mention a butt load of wrap

my only thought was to keep the exhaust temp up, and not have to heat it up as often for an active regen.

you will need anouther programmer for the double dpf ( saving the enviroment 10mpg at a time.)
