Hey George C,

I do not mean to hijack the post, but you may want to look into a Pioneer Nav unit to replace you factory radio. I am like you, I want everything clean w/o any wires or doodads in my truck.
I have the Avic Z2. It is great and I run my Bluetooth and iPod through it. It also has an input for a rear camera which is handy in addition to the factory camera.

My $0.02

Does it interface with the Audiophile wiring?
I was told, and probably incorrectly, that the Audiophile along with the amp & speakers were a wire specific unit.

yes im sure it does,
some guys have it in there trucks.
I personally have the D3 by pioneer and it works perfect with the Audiophile system.,
on a side note, if you really NEED the nav functions and information then Kenwood makes a better NAV unit-they use Garmin. My pioneer is great but the nav is off sometimes. just wanted to let you know ahead of time.

I have an alpine double din and i love it and it does work with the premium sound system as long as you get the premium wiring harness in my opinion it is the most user friendly unit

George,

Check in the electronics forum and talk to Sam -- he installed the stock NAV unit and rigged it to display the rear-view camera. He installed an aftermarked camera with infrared lights (for night vision) inside the stock tailgate handle. Here's the writeup he did on it:

2008 F250 FX4

I'd personally prefer stock just for the fit and finish, but that's just me.

Josh

Really.....on the subject of the tuners...has anyone heard anything new?

I am uber close to going a different route....and I not even sure that I will be able to get ahold of Matt if I try to call and tell him to not run my card....

I talked to donna yesterday, she gave me a invioce # for my tuner and told me they are more fustrated then us to get them out. She said it should be any day there waiting for drew tech to send the final firmware to them, and then Matt just has to test it to see if it loads right and then there all going out. She stated that there are 600 tuners in the first order and everyone up to the beginning of this week should get one. Hope this helps a little I'm just as inpatient as the rest of you seeing as oil hit 126.20 per barrel today(those scum bags). Donna said that they will be out before the end of may, I told her I hope so cause alot of people might jump ship and go with sct.

hang on guys there's hope

Darrell
