steering stabilizer joint replacement

I got a single stabilizer "kit" from rough country. The only thing that it came with was the shock, no joint for the steering linkage, or any new hardware. I talked to the guys there, and they said I was to re-use the joint and hardware off of the original shock. OK. I tried to get the pressed joint out of the old shock end, and broke a wrench in the process.. it's not happening. I looked around before even trying that for a new joint to install so I wouldn't have to use the old one, and I can't find one anywhere, not the auto parts store, nor the dealer. Has anybody had this issue? The only thing that I can find is a new shock with either the new joint in pieces ready to be installed with the new shock, or the joint already pressed in. Any help would be appreciated. Other wise I'll be sending the product back.
