I don't think the head gaskets will be a problem like they were in the 6.0's, nothing major has showed up yet, but we will know soon enough

I think I read somewhere that the 6.4 has larger headbolts than the 6.0 which was an issue. Maybe someone can confirm this

I don't think it has head bolts, but studs, but even if it has head bolts, they are better than the 6.0s

I asked my service manager at the dealer where I bought the truck and he said that a straight up programmer (superchips, bully dog, edge, ect....) sold over the counter should not be an issue. Ford shares info with a lot of the aftermarket companies. Ford can’t give us the horse power that we want because of government regs and these trucks are made for the aftermarket industry stereo, navigation, performance, suspension, wheels ect. We as consumers drive the market and Ford hasn't figured out how to do it and still stay within their regulations. Has anyone noticed that all the dealers are now offering trucks with aftermarket lift kits (procomp 6"), 22" wheels, and custom interiors. Ford just wants a piece of the pie, we can spend as much as $55,000.00 on a truck but we can’t let the beast out of the engine that they built to run; why put in the twins??????

No joke $4.00 a gallon it should run like a race car; I got rid of my 03' lightning for an 06 diesel. Now I regret it I would have paid that one off by now and it ran like a monster. Now I’m stuck with a truck that could could run awesome.
