Mini Maxx, S&B with 4" flo pro black smoke question

I just deleted and got everything installed. I have been running stock on my 2008 so I am used to not seeing much or any smoke.

I expected there to be some after deleting but it seems like I am seeing more than I would expect. I am wondering what other people have experienced. If I put it on the performance tune and put it about 3/4's to the floor I can smoke out a city block, is that normal? I have my defuel set to the default of 2.

Even using the stock tune I get a lot of smoke when my foot get's heavy.

Apologies in advance if this is a dumb question but I'm a noob with this set up.

Let me know what you guys are experiencing. Thanks!

Are you talking about the low boost fuel setting? It can be set from 0 to 5. The lower the number, the less smoke. I have mine set at 1 and it'll smoke only if I pound on it.

Try turning it down to 1 or 0 and see what happens.

Make sure you have downloaded the new firmware and other updates to your mini. The older tunes are more smokey. I have my defuel at 5 and i dont smoke unless i hammer it and then it cleans up pretty quickly.

Thanks for the info, I'm making the change now. When I went into the menu to change the low boos fuel settings it was on 3, I'm not sure if that is the default I thought 2 was the default, anyways I moved it to a 1 hopefully that will help.
I have the latest firmware 6.4.49.

Thanks again

Yes default is 3. 3 is pretty smokey so I can't imagine how smokey 5 is. You should like 0 or 1.

Thanks for the info. I guess I needed to re-read the manual. I downloaded the tune again and changed the low boost setting to 1, that made a big difference in the amount of smoke that it puts out. What are the down falls to having this set lower? Is it possible to run it too lean?

No that isnt possible to run it too lean. There really isnt no downfalls to having it set that low. There is an advantage to it though that if you happen to stomp it, it doesnt overfuel your turbos
