Question SCT Livewire "Vehicle Not Supported" ?

Bought a used SCT livewire from a member here, and when I plug it into my OBD2 it's giving me the Vehicle Not Supported error, then my strategy codes.

I was trying to load canned tunes on the vehicle as no custom's in yet. I was able to read the DTC codes with it, but cannot get it to sync with my vehicle.

I hooked it up to my laptop and ensured the software was up to date and all that jazz, but in the end can't get it to sync up.

Any ideas? Thanks.

EDIT: I had to select "Transfer file to SCT" from the updater, not option "Update Firmware", weird, but it worked.

Okay, after looking it appears I don't have the latest firmware, however my laptop isnt allowing me to open it with the SCT Device updater. Any ideas as to why that would be? When I try to search for updates automatically the SCT Device updater appears to not be recognizing the unit, however when I open the serial number search option it pulls the info up right away.

My SCT X3 was way easier to use on my 6.0 lol.

Make sure you have all the drivers installed, I had the same issue, google SCT drivers, put in the model number example (9625OR) and it should bring it up, I will say that when the SCT is current on firmware the SCT program is fast and simple to load. Good Luck, in the end if you can't get it going call customer service pretty helpful.

Yep, that was the issue as it turned out, I just had to load the firmware update differently to the tuner than the actual "Update Firmware" button. Everything seems to be running fine now, knock on wood. I don't recall getting an option as to what tune to choose from though, granted the canned tune it uploaded definitely made a world of difference, but in the end I do not believe I was asked if I wanted a tow tune or performance tune. Thought they came with 2-3 tunes preloaded, but maybe I was wrong.

Plan on custom tunes as soon as my exhaust is here anyways, deleting the DPF etc.
