Installing a cai need a tuner

So I have an 08 6.4 mite be a dumb ? But if I install a cai do I need a tune or is it just a waste of money trucks still under warr and of the dealer says don't touch anything we all now I'm not going to listen but not till warrantys up looking for a tuner and dpf delete to!!!

A tuner definitely isn't a waste of money, but's it's not necessary for just a CAI.

You can gain performance with the DPF and EGR in place, just not as much as with them removed. You will need a tuner if you want to delete the DPF or EGR.

You may not see any improvement with an aftermarket CAI while you still have the factory tuning, DPF, and EGR in place, but a good CAI won't hurt anything either.
