New to the 6.4. What tuner setup

Hey guys new here coming from the cumminsforum. Last truck was a 600 plus hp street friendly 5.9 cummins. I've been searching around for the best tuners and it seems like H&S, Spartan and SCT are the way to go. That being said which are the best drivable tunes. In the cummins world some tuners that really crank them up aren't worth a d**** daily driving. I had custom UDC tunning on the last truck and it was great. Are the custom tunes from innovative or the hot damn tunes from H&S drivable? Also debating on the deletes considering I have a warranty until 2017

Thanks in advance!

I run the hd tunes from H&S and they are very street driveable. They also have the power right there if you really want it. You'd have to delete if you want to run the hd tunes though. Just throwing that out there in case you weren't aware.

How long have you been running them. I just want to make sure if I go through with it and drive it normal not like a high school kid nothing will wear or break.

I've had them for about 20,000 - 25,000kms or so. I drive pretty conservatively and the tunes have worked well for me. Plenty of people have gone alot more than that and say they drive fairly hard as well with no issues so it really just depends on the truck. There have also been people on the other side of the spectrum who very shortly after tuning have issues almost immediately because the tuning may tend to bring out issues that a previous owner waas either unaware of or possibly even covering up. Alot of it depends on how the truck was treated prior to your ownership. Keep on top of the maintenance now that you are the owner, fuel filters and water separator especially because those repairs tend to become very costly very quickly. Maybe you can even find a mod friendly dealer to help out if issues do arise.

Yes I may have a mod friendly dealer but I will have to see. The truck has 40k on it and has been serviced at the dealer I bought it from since new. Came from an old guy who buys a new one every 2 years so I'd say its issue free. Thanks for the feedback!

Well that makes things easier being they have all the service records. Also, 40k is a pretty good find, nice and low miles.

I like my spartan setup. My 250 rides and shifts pretty much like stock, that is until I stomp on the skinny pedal and then it gets up and goes.
