SCT 3015R install

I have a 2008 6.4 and am looking at dpf/cat delete. I purchased an sct 3015r and am looking at some insight on installing and tuning options. I have talked to a few people and read some posts on here about not needing bungs on the delete pipe, but keeping the sensors connected to complete the circuit. The 6.4 is stock, so when tuning, are there any options i need to pay particular attention to (i.e. egr)?

I put my 3015r on about a month ago and love it. I run the race tune with the firmest tranny tune. When you program make sure to select egr deleted and race exhaust and that will turn off the egr and dpf. Im looking into getting a higher hp tune from gearhead.

I appreciate the advice. Did you use a pipe with bungs?

No I used a flo pro cat/dpf delete 4". I used the stock tale section though because I live in an emissions state. I just bought extra sensors, left the old ones on the pipe and plugged the new ones in and tied them up to the frame rail. Very straight forward. You will Handle it no problem. Used a pry bar to get the factory hangers off

I run the performance tune with a performance tranny tune. I did the cat/dpf delete with bungs. I did it so the Edge tuner I use for gauges only would still be able to read my EGT.

I also left the stock muffler and pipes. I only got the tuner for mileage. I have not hand calculated, but just by the truck gauge I am getting 5mpg improvement. I plan on getting some custom tunes from Innovative to make my mpg even better.

I would not know. I run an s&b. don't quote me on this but I think most tunes are setup for aftermarket CAI.

Hopefully, last question. What did you do with your oxygen pressure sensor?

I cleaned it out with q-tips. Reinstalled it and wrapped it in plastic and tied it to the frame rail

Those sensors dont monitor egts. Your EGT sensor is in the passenger uppupe between the exhaust manifold and turbo.

And your lie o meter is probably way off. Custom tunes from IDP prolly wont net much mpg difference if any, but the tunes and the way the tranny is setup is well worth getting them
