Making a 6.4 800-1000hp capable cost

Well recently I built my 5.9 to this range and I'm wondering if it would be a similar cost with a ZF6. I'd also like to know if the reliability would be the same.

I don't want to create a biggest **** contest, I'd just like to get some honest opinions. I expect it to be a little biased but I am a ford fan at heart

I'd have a 6.4 if they weren't 6-10 grand more for the same thing. Can't compare interiors or paint but you get the gist

It depends on what way you want to make it. There are many options. Single non vgt, Sequential Compound, trips, and even quads just for air

Thinking about getting rid of the stock 6.7 turbo?

Big air and big fuel, no problem. It's just money.

In all seriousness, are you looking for a streetable 800-1000?

You talking HP or TQ? I'm just making sure because you said you built your 5.9 to "that level" but your sig shows 462HP and 852 TQ for the goat.

Just trying to get clarification. Maybe you had a different pulling goat, but that would lead back into 08stroker250's question. Streetable, or something else?

I would be looking for a 800hp on the street and then use the 1000 for the dyno. How expensive are 6.4 injectors. I just put some fairly expensive ones in my 5.9

Nozzles aren't bad (no need to replace the entire injector). Where it gets iffy is the turbo setup and dual fuelers you'll need. Honestly, I would go for a custom set of compounds from Maryland Performance Diesel or one of Elite Diesel's compound setups if you're looking to have a streetable 800 horsepower setup. You can make big power with a single, but you would be looking at driving around in a smokey pig at 800 horsepower....especially with a ZF6.

Yeah I definitely wouldn't try to pull 800hp on a single and daily drive. One reason I went with twins on my truck. I've heard that the 6.4 bottom ends are good till 1000hp. Is that true?

I haven't updated that for awhile. Monday I put up 544hp at 1109tq on stock injectors, stock injection pump, just EFI live, lift pump and 63/68/12. Today I put down 813hp with lots of room to grow but 6.4s always seem to be calling my name.
