getting ready to buy a 6.4, and want to make approx 550rwhp.

I am looking at getting a 2008 6.4, so my questions are as follows...

I was told to do a full turbo back exhaust that has a DPF delete. What is recommended for a budget?

Next is what tuner, and who's tunes?

next what intake? has anyone done a DIY intake for these trucks?

I am also planning on an egr delete, is that an easy mod to do?

What else would you recommend to get me to my goal? I want 550RWHP that is good for daily driving.

Also at these HP levels what are yall avergaing for fuel mileage?

First of all, better hurry up and get your tuner before they become difficult to get.

I have a 2008 6.4 with H&S tuner xrt pro with the DPF deleted, S&B Air intake and coolant filter. As far as power, I dont know but with the simple upgrades the trucks is powerful and very fun to drive and as far as fuel mileage, it depends on your driving habits and conditions of the road and how your truck is loaded.

I have averaged best of 20+ mpg highway with no wind and good roads. I usually average between 12 and 17 mpg in town, I have a lot of stop and go and a heavy foot sometimes . Im sure someone will be able to help you out with more info.

PS: as far as budget, you better have deep pockets haha. atleat $5k, last time I checked everything is getting expensive better consider the cuz you might need a volunteer to remove the DPF.

this wont be my first rodeo. I will be able to do that one. I appreciate the advice. Are you using canned tunes or custom tunes?

Look at the 'General 6.4 Modifications' sticky. It will help.

Basic intake, tune, exhaust will get you to 550rwhp on these trucks.

I think most of your questions (if not all) are answered in the sticky.

Haha don't worry about it. Actually happens more often than you think (unfortunately). If there is anything not answered in that sticky either post up in this thread or the sticky and I'll try to add to the sticky. I try to keep it as up do date and informative as possible.

550 RWHP can be achieved with a tuner, intake, and exhaust. Trucks have been making 560-580 with our 310 tune for several years now with 35's and smaller tires.

I don't think the cac mod is necessary for 550 hp do y'all?
