is anyone running elites tow power x atmosphere turbo with the stock high pressure vgt turbo? if so how was the intstall and power/driveability after? the kit says everything is provided for the install so i take it my downpipe will still work? was thinking about the 72mm but this could have some awesome potential down the road.

any suggestions would be great!

I don't think anyone has tested this setup.

What is the tow power x atmosphere? I am interested in either the 71mm or the 72mm.

It's a 76mm Precision ball bearing turbo. Elite uses it in their Tow Power X kit and High Power kit for the low pressure turbo. The kit being referred to in this thread is that 76mm turbo being used as a replacement for your stock low pressure turbo, kind of like the 71mm and 72mm options they have. The big difference in the Tow Power X atmosphere kit is that it's not a direct drop-in like the others. It requires a few extra pieces to work.

Oh i see. I will probably either get the 71 or 72 if i ever get a turbo. Either of those would be plenty of air for my setup. Thanks for the info.

Jeff, do you think there would be a pretty big difference between the 72 and 76? I imagion both would work well the 300+ tunes? Would the 76 still spool pretty decent for a dd?

You probably wouldn't gain a huge amount of power going from the 72mm to the 76mm, but there is more potential down the road with the 76mm if you decided to purchase Elite's 59mm or 62mm VGT setup. The 76/62 setup is capable of 750-800 with fuel system upgrades.

Spool up should be awesome with the stock VGT.

Standard 4" downpipe will work. I recommend No Limit Fabrication's cold air intake. The exhaust note should change some due to the turbine on the Precision turbo. Should give you a noticeable whistle. The Precision turbos have a very distinct sound.
