Finally looking to upgrade performance.

Hey guys. I think I have finally got my hands on a spartan, sent half the money today and sending the other half when it clears Paypal. I started to fill out all the necessary paperwork so with that said, I'm finally looking to upgrade my exhaust and finally get rid of this DPF.

I was looking into a 5" exhaust, I was wanting to go turbo back but one of the local shops here told me I had to take the cab off to do that, which didn't seem right to me?

From my searching around on here it looks like I'm gonna go with either an s&b or AFE intake. My other question would be what else could I do to the truck to be more reliable? I don't really expect a lot of mpg as I have a lift and 35's but just looking for something that will haul *** when needed but be a good dependable daily driver for other times.

Finally looking to upgrade performance.

Down pipe needs to be cut to remove, or can taken off if you want it in one piece.

Not true. DP can be done cab on

I have an aFe but either brand will do you fine
My other question would be what else could I do to the truck to be more reliable?I recommend a coolant filter setup and look into an EGR delete or block off. I don't really expect a lot of mpg as I have a lift and 35's but just looking for something that will haul *** when needed but be a good dependable daily driver for other times.

Thanks for the help! Just read all 13 pages of the sticky, pretty good info there. I'm excited and plan on doing the exhaust, intake, and hopefully egr delete fairly soon as long as money permits. Later on I would love to do the other stuff with the cab off. Hopefully my tuner will be on the wy soon and then I'll feel like a whole new world has opened up to me in the diesel world haha
