High egt's

How much will a 4" dp help my egt's? I have 5" dp back now with afe cai. I was doing the tranny learn with the h&s and hit the egt defuel (1450) running 50% throttle. My cruising temps seem to be normal but I don't think I could make it through a 1/4 mile at wot. Also would bigger tires cause more drive pressure thus causing higher egt's? Don't know, maybe that's a dumb question.

High egt's

It will probably be around 50 degrees. That's what I saw. And yes bigger tires will cause higher EGTs because your engine is working harder.

What size tires do you have and what gears? That's pretty high egt for half throttle on h&s tunes.

Re: High egt's

Well that gear is a bit high for those tires but still shouldn't get that hot at half throttle. What is your low boost fueling set at? If it's high set it down to 0 or 1.

Re: High egt's

It's set at default (3 I think). I will try turning it down. Thanks.

Ya that sounds high to me as well, and I have my LBF set at 5. My 4" DP droped my egts somehwer between 50-100 degrees. Cruising down the highway at 70mph I saw about an 80 degree drop.

2008 (Job 1) F250 King ranch 4x4, snow plow prep package with 2.5 level. Black Maxx, B&W Diehard platinums. Dieselsite coolant and transmission filters, NCU Motorsports/amsoil oil bypass kit. Turbo blankets, 5.5 PMF traction
Please collect and message me Shell, Rotella oil cap codes aka "my miles matter" I'm trying to save up for a hat or something.

I would recommend your LBF on 0 or 1. Dyno has proven better numbers with it turned down if you mash on it hard

That seems to be the consensus. I'm going to change it this weekend and see what happens.
