DPF Deleted and tuned by shop, swiching over to H&S Xrt Pro, install tidbits
Hey folks. I had my DPF deleted by a local shop and the regen mode and EGR turned off and had them give me 60 extra horsepower.
I found an XRT Pro en eBay for $350 and bought it immediately. I am thinking I need to take the truck over to the shop that did the work for me so that I can get them to return the truck to stock before installing the H&S. Is this right? And then I'll have to install the H&S before I can start the truck, so basically I'll have to pay them to sit in their shop while I install the H&S or have them install the H&S. I just want to make sure that this is necessary to do. If I can erase a custom tune installed by a shop and return it to stock with the H&S I can just do it all at home. Secondly, I just wanted to ask you guys if there is anything I need to know before I start installing it. Some guy in the other thread said I need to make sure the truck is warmed up. Anything else? |

And before anyone asks, it's the older model XRT Pro that will support the DPF and EGR disabling.

no need to return to stock. the h&s doesnt save the stock tune off your truck, it has the stock tunes loaded on it already so you dont have to worry about saving yours. so just plug it in and follow the instructions on the screen. no need for it to be warmed up. update it on h&s website with the automatic updater first, then plug it into the truck, update firmware, then download the tune. pretty simple
