The speedo was disconnected in order to run wires for my 2 way radios. Unfortunately upon attempting reassembly I was locked out by Fords security system. So much for " doing it yourself " . . .

they have to reprogram the guage cluster at the dealer for the PATS system. this wasn't a problem on most earlier diesels as they didn't use PATS but all the new ones have it.

I think what you are trying to say is that your truck is in theft mode and will not start.

Theft Mode

I had the very same thing happen to me, but for a different reason. I purchased a Superchips 1808 Flashpaq and when I downloaded it into the truck it went into "Theft Mode". Hence, Roadside Assistance and a tow job to my dealer. It turns out that they needed to replace the ECM.
A month later (after the Tuner was verified by Superchips to be defect free, and good to go) I tried it again. Another tow job, and another ECM. I am afraid to try it again. The tuner is on E-bay. I have tried 2 mods and had disasterous results both times. I am going to wait to see what Banks comes up with. In this game, first to market is not always best. Just my opinion.

1 Superchip 1808 Tuner 4 sale
1 AFE CAI 4 sale.

Merry Christmas

What a disaster. The 2004-2008 F-150's run on a very similar CAN network but do not have to worry about the theft mode. I hope you find a way around it.
