Re: Canned tunes

Short answer, yes.

Every vehicle can perform different based on gearing, wheel size, transmission and engine differences. No 2 vehicles will perform exactly the same. Since the tuner manufacturers can't write tunes for every single vehicle there is, they write tunes with several variations to hopefully accommodate everyone. Hence the term, canned tunes.

So if you we wanted to get custom tunes for the mini max depending on our aftermarket parts, lift, gearing, and tires sizes there would be significant difference between these and canned tunes? Would KEM be a good option for getting custom tunes?

My truck is all stock except for dpf/cat delete. I am using the mid tune haven't tried any other since the truck was tuned am I missing out on something by using the tunes that come on the tuner? With the truck being relatively stock do I have to worry about any heavy wear or damage by going to the higher HP tune?

Canned tunes

You always have to worry Bout breaking something. Some people get lucky running hot tunes on stock trucks. Others don't. Just keep in your head if you can pay to fix anything that breaks then drive it how you want. But you can also run hot tunes and just not hammer on it and it will be safe.

Some of the highest/best MPG's are achieved on really powerful tunes. Just keep yourself from mashing the pedal off of every light and flooring the pedal when entering the highway. More throttle = more fuel delivery and power. Once you run custom tunes you will kick the canned tunes to the curb.

Where did you purchase your custom tunes from?
