Is SCT gonna release custom tune programmer?
Is SCT gonna release a custom tune programmer (not the live wire) into the market soon? I've been calling KEM for a week straight with no response. I want a programmer before I lift my truck.......

I don't think it'll happen actually. Here's my reasons why... Than ANY joe could write a tune and pretty much blow the motor through the hood really easily. These motors are crazy power when tuned right, but when tuned wrong, it all goes bad and makes them a nightmare. From what I understand, most if not all SCT tuners go through a training school to learn what the program can do and how to do it. Beyond that- you have to have a knowledge of the motors themselves and what they can do. I don't think SCT wants a bunch of people running around the track and plugging into every diesel tuning it and than everyone having problems, that'll generate phone calls, hate mail, small county deaths... ya know, the bad stuff. i just don't see SCT releasing a Tweecer type of program for our diesels. They are proud of what they have and the tuners who use it well- I think the adjustability IS limitless, it just takes a few phone calls and time on the phone to the right tuner, ERIC ::cough, cough::, and you're good to go. hope this helps a bit |

Actually you can get the Pro Racer software and write your own tunes for a 6.0 as we speak. It's been out for a year or two. From what I've been told SCT has abandoned the 6.4L custom tuning at this point as they've been concentrating on Crummins and Doucheamaxipad's. No telling when they'll start again. I suppose if they start getting enough demand from their customers they'll try again. Honestly? I think they're stumped on how to get the regen handled. |

If you go to the SCT Livewire site and look at the forums, you will see where the questionswas raised about a progrtam to eliminate the DPF through a new tune. The respones from SCT is that they have no plans to provide this program. I am not sure if this means peol;ple like Innovative will be able to provide a custom tune to eliminate the DPF or not. I was waiting for SCT to release this, as I am leary of KEM since they have such a poor reputation for response to customers. I, like many others have been trying to contact them for some time with NO response. |
