XRT help - A little freaked out
I just traded in my 2101 6.4
I was running a XRT on it. Before trading it in I set it back to factory tune. I ran the truck about 500-600 miles before trading it in. I put the tuner up for sale and I was contacted by a forum member asking about it being unlocked or not. Much to my dismay, after hooking it up via USB it says that is is still locked to my VIN and at the HOT level. I am not worried about the XRT, I am a little freaked out thinking the truck I traded in was not set back to the factory tune. There is no way the truck was on the hot tune when traded. I had this truck tuned since it was new and had forgotten how much better it ran tuned until I set it back to stock. Anyone have some thoughts? I am going to call H&S thus afternoon. |

You def noticed the difference between "hot damn" and stock. Did you re-install all of your "EPA compliant parts" as well?

Yes. Everything was returned to stock. Did not see it go into regen but thought I felt it.
Can't figure out why the XRT reads like it does. I really do not care about the XRT. I am worried about the status of the program in the traded truck. |

Well its the dealers problem now buddy, don't lose anymore sleep. They can flash the computer if they really need to.

agreed they can fix it on their end it may never even become a concern unless somone goes to program it themselves ,, they would need Ford to re flash I believe
funny situation for sure |

The only thing I am worried about is that it is on a delete, stock level tune. Eventually it will clog the DPF because it is not going into regen.
I never had the last recall done ( reflash) so if the dealer runs an Oasis, hopefully the do the reflash. Just hate to see this come back to bite me in the butt. |

I wouldn't worry. It's pretty standard to flash trucks before they go up for sale.
