Tuner and Exhaust
Hey all, I am new to the site and the powerstroke world. I went and got me a low mile 08 6.4 Powerstroke and I love it. I have had it for a few months now and I am just ready to open her up. As a few other guys have said on here, H&S went out of production and a few other companies are only offering non-delete kits now. Anybody know what the best route to go for a 6.4 is? I am wanting to get a down pipe back exhaust as well, any recommendations for that? And one last question, would I be okay to keep the stock intake and EGR if I am just using mild tunes and daily driving? Thank you for the help

Order a h&s before they are gone. But u gotta hurry, call PTP or holderdown performance. Those are two I know that have a few left in stock.

I ordered through PTP and was pleased. If I had to do it again I would have bought an MBRP exhaust. I didn't, and am not impressed with my exhaust finish.

What's wrong with your Diamond Eye? I'm on the fence with Flo-Pro and Diamond Eye in 5"...

Alright, I was looking on Diesel Performance Products website, I got my eyes on the H&S mini maxx, 5" Flo Pro turbo back and a S&B intake system. Anybody have any advice on the Flo Pro exhaust? Also, what are your opinions on turbo back vs down pipe back, and muffler or no muffler. Once I get these out the way I am probably going to start adding things to make the truck look better and not many more performance mods, probably the EGR delete soon, so do you think I would be better off just doing the down pipe back? Thanks

I'm also on the fence about which exhaust to pickup for my delete. BTW, grab the H&S and you will be more than happy! |

I had the stainless flo pro cat/ delete pipe. It rusted in no time with the truck inside and not driven in the rain. I now replaced it with the aluminum flo pro and it still looks new. Also the 5" downpipe back with stock downpipe and no muffler is the easiest and sounds the best imo. Not loud and easy to install. If you want a little more challenge , then replace the downpipe as well.

If its ss409 it's gonna surface rust almost immediately. Ss409 has more iron content than aluminized steel. I tried to get my diamond eye warrantied (I had ss409 on my 6.0) and they said they only warranty if it rusts through. Our dump truck has aluminized and it does all the salting when plowing and it looks great. Yesterday I was with the lady and heard something on the highway. Get out and look, my magnaflow ss304 dpf back, one of the hangers sheared in half. Not sure if it was from stress or what. But it looks like I'm gonna be ordering flo pro aluminized 5".
