with a truck that new i wouldnt do anything to it just yet. wait a bit to see if all the glitches were taken care of by ford. they will be lookin for anything to void the warranty.

Sometimes, even changing to an AFE intake (not sure about just the filter) will set off a CEL. the Zoodad won't work on an 08 as the intake is in the rear of the engine bay I think...

I have 73K on my 08 and have tried several options to modify this truck cause it gets 7 mpg. Nothing works !!!! __ NOTHING at ALL!! I have removed the DPF and had to replace it, programmers cause it to smoke more and go into regereation mode even faster, and all intakes out there will cause the check engine light to dome on because the mass air flow sensor is so sensative it can detect the increase in air flow over what is programmed to read at the same rpm/pedal position. Truct me I wish I could see 10 mpg out of this truck , but it ain't happening.------ bottom line just drive it and save your money for other stuff.

Okay I was wondering why you were getting such poor mileage, but pulling 20k makes it a bit more acceptable. My dad pulls 15k 5er with an 06 and gets about 10mpg.

i removed the dpf for a few days when first bought back in feb,07 about 70,ooo miles ago. and I got 12.7 out of it until it went into manual regen mode and I had to put the dpf back to correct the problem, so one day someone will make a kit to remove this goofy thing and I will drive to their door and be first in line.

Yeah all this emmissions stuff is overkill! They want us to conserve but the govt mandates you have to meet a certain emmissions level, but the flip side is your mileage goes down, so what did they accomplish
