H&S Transmission Tune
Im running HD300 typically in mild because I have a 6" lift and no traction bars. I also tow a boat frequently. My current shift schedule is S2H. My torque converter locks in only 5th gear and usually wont lock until im at or around 62 MPH.
Anyone else run this schedule? I'll be honest, I dont mind the shifts at all, the only thing I dont like is when I get on it from either a slow roll or a dead stop, once I reach that last shift and torque converter lock up, it gets a little hurky jerky. I propose this because I havent updated my tuner in almost a year, so I figured I may download the latest update, and when I do this would be a good time to switch shift schedules since I believe the only way to change shift schedules is when you download tunes? Any thoughts? Thanks |

I keep mine in HOT all the time unless im towing. i have a 4.5" Icon. no traction bars either
I dont like the hard shift...mine is the Medium shift and locks out in 5th gear around 55mph. and i like it. I havent tried any of the ones with TC lock 4th and 5th yet though. hurky jurky is the hard shift you have it set on. it dont feel as bad when you are on the accelerator does it. Its harder when you are easing in on it probably. It wouldnt hurt to just try another trans tune. most i think are running the SM2 or SM1 i believe. |

The new updated trans tuning shifts much better than the tuning you're running (well, at least smoother). Personally I like it much better. Particularly noticeable is the improvement in the shifts from 2-3.

I would tow on the easy tunes. The factory shifting is so much more refined than H&S

I run s1L and s1m when towing something heavy. I love the torque converter lock up in 4th and 5th. It locks in 4th at like 30 or 35 so perfect for keeping rpm's low when cruising down our streets and locks in 5th at 50 or 55 which is perfect for the back roads. Only thing I wish it did was unlock the torque converter when you tap the break like my other vehicles.

I like having the 4th gear lockup. Since most of the roads I drive on are highway or 45mph, I run S1L. |
