2008 F250 exhaust system in Cali?

I am currently in Texas serving in the Army and bought a 2008 F250 6.4l power stroke since I have been here. I am looking at putting an aftermarket exhaust system on it and I know Cali is strict now about smog and all that. What is the best bang for your buck out there for sound and performance but still complying with California law at the same time? I have been told the Flo Master II 4" pipe with 5" outlet but everyone says it doesn't change much of sound or performance. If you guys could fill me in that would be sweet.

If you don't delete the dpf then the sound and performance will not be noticeable when doing a dpf back exhaust. The only way to reap the benefit is to delete the dpf but then you won't be compliant with the emissions laws.
