Newby with questions on performance mods

Ok a lil background, first time diesel owner. 2008 F250 ext. cab 2wd. I just installed a H&S mini and an AFE stage 2. I am looking for some tune suggestions for mileage and performance. Is there a good mix of setting that work the best.

I may sound like an idiot asking this but what does the mini mean be defuelling? Is it restricting the amount of fuel?

What exhaust is better to go with? I was thinking 5" and deleting everything. I just don't know if I should go Flo Pro, MBRP, etc.

If you can keep your foot out of the throttle you will get the best mileage on the highest HP tunes.

As far as exhaust, go with the 5". These trucks aren't loud even with straight pipes and the 5" gives a deeper rumble than the 4".

Will going with the stock down pipe be ok over upgrading it turbo back? Will it make a big difference in power? Or just a tone difference?

The down pipe won't be noticeable power wise unless your laying down some power. The hassle of removing it and only real gain is lower egt's it isn't that worth it if all your doing is going for a reliable truck. Down pipe back will do ya just fine.

When you go into defuel mode because you have surpassed one of your set defuel parameters, the truck will cut power slightly to bring your temps down below your set points.

4" exhaust is plenty, but the 5" sounds better. NO muffler needed on either. These trucks are quiet. You dont need an aftermarket DP, but like travisH3 said it will lower your EGT's even further. I found adding the DP worth it. I didnt add it until after I did my DP back exhaust. It only took about 40 minutes to install and was little to no hassle as long as you know you know your way around a ratchet and sawzal.

Exhaust brands are all pretty similar. The fit and finish of the big names are all pretty good. I have a flo pro exhaust, with an AFE DP. Most people have had good luck with flo pro, diamond eye, and MBRP. All depends on how much you want to spend.

I haven't heard anything bad about the flopro yet. I think I am going to go the 5" and do dp back. I was thinking about the egr delete too. Should I trust the H&S to turn it off so I don't have to do the delete?

You can trust the H&S to turn the egr off, but that will still leave your coolers in place which can still fail over time. Its all up to you. I ran my truck with the EGR disabled until I got out of warranty, then I did the full delete. Putting an EGR and coolers back on the truck is a real pain in the arse.
