transmission time hows this sound?

My converter is on the way out but transmission is fine. Talked with rudys gonna start getting parts this week but the list so far is an RCD converter no idea on stall yet?, Suncoast rebuild, input shaft and the rear ring hub i think it is. Anything else i should add? Only want to do this once and truck makes decent power with the 71 an batmo on it.

Which suncoast rebuild? I would get the various solinoids as well and an external tranny filter if your truck doesnt have one already. I did the same has you. HD suncoast rebuild, suncoast TC, all the solinoids, shift kit (reverse ring I believe), mag hytec deep pan. I didnt do the input shaft though. My tranny guy said unless Im going to do all the input shafts then its not really worth it. The stock 6.4 input shaft is pretty strong compared to past trannys.

Go with the River City Diesel converter in a 1600 RPM stall. You won't regret it. They also have a 5 year warranty. Best move I could have made after my SunCoast converter failed me. I know of another truck with a similar setup as mine that just had a SunCoast converter fail. His had less mileage on it than mine did too. Their standard triple disc doesn't seem to like north of the 575-600 range.

Is there a rebuild kit that's better than the suncoast?

Both Elite and River City Diesel have their own parts that can be combined with SunCoast stuff.

You're talking about the billet parts correct? I was wanting to know if the suncoast clutches are the best out there. Should have specified.

Mine have held up to over 100 track passes and lots of abuse. I'm happy with the SunCoast internals. My only issues was the torque converter.
