Alternator replaced. Batt light still on?

Just replaced my alternator and my volts went back to normal (14.3) ish after about 2 minutes it was running 11.7 via mini maxx but my battery light is still on.. Just wondering if something is still wrong.

Thanks.

Check your wiring harness that plugs into the alternator. I had the same thing happen to me this summer the voltage was jumping all over the place and it turned out that the 3 wires were rubbing and for cut.
