Best turbo/ intercooler boots?
So I'm in need to replace my turbo boots. Especially the intercooler to elbow boot after I did the flo pro cac tube, the gap isn't close enough to use the stock boot- it keeps blowing off. So I might as well do all the boots for piece of mind.
So- what's the best boots for the best price? I've browsed the available ones, but want members experience & knowledge before I order em up. Sent from my iPhone using AutoGuide.com App |

Silicone Hose
You can buy a large sections there and fit to cut. Thats what I did to make that connection between my IC pipe and elbow. As for whole boot kits, dieselsite is the best. |

Mine already had the Dieselsite boot kit installed when did the EGR Delete w/Elbow (IC was in place already). With much effort installed the boots leaving literally 1/16" to 1/8" behind the clamps and 1/4" from the notch where the boot should sit at the CAC nozzle . Although haven't had any problems even at 40PSI of boost, for my peace of mind, finally ordered a 3" x 7" boot (without clamp) at Dieselsite (had to call them). I should receive it tomorrow. 7" long is the next size available at Dieselsite for our application. Probably they can do a kit for you swapping one 3"x4.25" boot that comes for the CAC's cold side by one of 7" long.

I had the same issue with the boot blowing off with the upgraded CAC pipe. I had a few longer boots from my 6.0L, slipped on on, and now it will be impossible to blow off unless the boot actually rips.
You can ask Jeff, I blew one of the 6.4L boots warming up my truck at the dyno day, five minutes before my dyno run. Swapped to a 6.0L boot in about 45 seconds, and the truck made 577 HP five minutes later!

I have the dieselsite ones, they are the only ones I know of that wont degrade after prolonged exposure to the oil these engines tend to throw into the intake. That is unless you have done a CCV mod. Also the diesel site ones are longer and come with new spring clamps, so I have mine double clamped.

Here are some photos after the 7" boot installation. Now has all the length needed (really more), the clamps were placed just behind the IC and Elbow tubes' stops.
