6.4 6 spd

Hey all, I am looking at buying an 08 with the 6 spd manual. I have a 2010 F-250 auto with an H&S MM and love it. It runs great! I test drove the 08 with an SCT on Stock and it drove like a terd. No guts at all in OD! I was plenty disappointed. This 08 also has 4.30 gears which if bought I would get rid of. My question is if tuned will the 6.4 with manual trans perform. I like for it to do something when I mash the skinny pedal

If any of you have any experience with one please let me know what you think

The tuned 6.4 with a manual transmission is a good runner. I have a friend with a 350 dually and 6 speed and it will get down something fierce. But, on higher horsepower tunes, you will NEED a performance clutch. Dual disc setup or something like that. The stock will go south very quickly with a tuned 6.4

4.30 gears? Is it a 450 or 550? I love my auto, but I wish they offered a king ranch in a hand shaker. I miss the hand shakers. Auto is nice around town, but for towing, I will take a manual any day of the week.

Like was said, the 6spds will run well when tuned but the stock clutch isnt going to hold out that long if you abuse it.

Well it came stock with the 3.73 and then the guy that had it put a tru trac and 4.30 in it. Just had the trans rebuilt and a southbend single put in it. Its nothing like a dual disk, but it should be better than stock. Come to find out, the lack of power is probly a turbo issue. It is going in the shop to figure out what is going on. I thought it should have had more power than it did. Im kinda glad it had a problem cuz I was very disappointed lol
